Abu Dhabi, UAE – August 7, 2026: Mubadala Investment Company has highlighted a series of major developments across its global investment portfolio during the first half of 2026, underscoring its continued focus on technology, healthcare, infrastructure, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing.
In the latest issue of The Mubadala Brief, the Abu Dhabi-based global investor said startups operating within Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global technology ecosystem, have generated more than US$1.5 billion (AED 5.4 billion) in revenue and attracted over US$2.7 billion (AED 9.9 billion) in funding since 2019.
The figures reflect the rapid development of Abu Dhabi’s technology and innovation ecosystem. According to Dr. Bakheet Al Katheeri, CEO of Mubadala’s UAE Investments Platform, the growth of Hub71 forms part of the broader development strategy supporting Abu Dhabi’s technology sector.
Hub71 recently recruited 27 startups into its latest year-long program, further expanding the emirate’s efforts to attract and support high-growth technology companies.
Mubadala Capital expands credit platform
Mubadala also announced the completion of the transfer of its credit business into Mubadala Capital, the alternative asset management arm of Mubadala Investment Company.
Under a long-term management agreement, Mubadala Capital will manage an existing US$25 billion credit portfolio, while opening the platform to third-party capital investors for the first time.
Mubadala is additionally committing US$4.65 billion in incremental capital to support the continued expansion of the credit business.
Healthcare and advanced manufacturing investments
The investment group also highlighted its strategic partnership with human performance company WHOOP, supported by a US$75 million investment.
Under the partnership, WHOOP plans to establish a dedicated office in Abu Dhabi, expand its Advanced Labs offering, introduce full Arabic localization across its platform and launch a joint research initiative with local institutions. The partnership is aimed at expanding preventative healthcare and performance science in the UAE.
In advanced manufacturing, Mubadala highlighted the operationalization of TBX Nexxia, a new manufacturing platform for advanced oil country tubular goods solutions.
The Abu Dhabi-based facility is the result of Mubadala’s 2024 partnership with Spain-based industrial company Tubacex Group. The facility is integrated with manufacturing mills in Spain and Brazil and is designed to strengthen regional energy supply chains while supporting local energy security and long-term economic value.
Digital infrastructure remains a strategic focus
Mubadala has also invested in Accelerate Infrastructure Opportunities, alongside CBRE Investment Management and other global partners.
The U.S.-focused platform acquires and manages land supporting critical infrastructure across digital, renewable energy and transportation sectors, including data centers, renewable energy projects and electric vehicle charging networks.
Mubadala said such investments support the infrastructure required to meet growing demand for data, power and connectivity as structural changes continue to reshape the global economy.
Renewable energy investments exceed $700 million in recent commitments
Mubadala also highlighted several investments supporting the development of sustainable energy infrastructure.
In June, the company acquired a US$200 million stake in Greenlink, a joint venture between Equitix and Baltic Cable that operates a 504MW subsea electricity cable connecting Great Britain and Ireland. The project is capable of supplying electricity to nearly 380,000 homes.
A month earlier, Mubadala committed US$325 million to Hornsea 3, an offshore wind farm located off the coast of England that is expected to become the world’s largest offshore wind project.
In May, Mubadala also acquired a minority stake in Power Factors, a U.S.-based renewable energy software company whose technology is used by 70 percent of the world’s top 50 renewable energy providers across more than 70 countries.
The investments reflect Mubadala’s continued focus on infrastructure assets considered critical to modern economies, particularly those supporting more connected, resilient and efficient energy systems.
Expanding global partnerships
Mubadala also highlighted its growing international engagement through partnerships and events in the United States.
The investment company returned to Washington, D.C., as the title sponsor of the Mubadala DC Open, beginning a new five-year partnership extending through 2030. Mubadala has been a co-title sponsor of the tournament since 2023.
The tournament is the world’s only combined ATP/WTA 500 event and has become one of Washington’s leadin sporting events, bringing together international tennis players, fans and the local community.
Mubadala also participated in the Milken Institute Business Dialogues, which brought together leaders from business, government and sport to discuss leadership, sports diplomacy, wearable technology and artificial intelligence.
The discussions featured figures including Michael Kratsios, Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy; U.S. Senator Mike Rounds; WHOOP Co-founder and CEO Will Ahmed; White House Task Force Executive Director Andrew Giuliani; and seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams.
The Exchange podcast launches
As part of its efforts to provide insight into global investment trends, Mubadala has also launched The Exchange, a new podcast series featuring conversations with the company’s leadership and subject-matter experts.
The first episode features Waleed Al Muhairi, Mubadala’s Deputy Group CEO, in a discussion with host Mustafa Al Rawi on disciplined investing, risk management, the evolution of Mubadala and emerging opportunities in the global investment landscape.
The Mubadala Brief is published by The Circuit in partnership with Mubadala Investment Company and provides updates on the company’s portfolio, investment activities, partnerships and international engagement.
